A Lovely Fall Drive

Jef and I drove up to North Georgia to Cloudland Canyon last Saturday to see some Fall color. This is one of my favorite pictures from the trip.

I can't help but hear Paul McCartney's voice in my head singing, "The long and winding road, that leads to your door..."

Where will your "long and winding road" take you this holiday season?

Why the Rush to Grow Up?

I went over to Jef's for the annual handing out of the Halloween candy. His neighborhood is overrun with kids on Halloween! Last year there were close to 250 kids that came up to the porch. This was a slow year with only 189.

One lovely little girl of approximately 8 years came up the steps in a beautiful long dress, her hair pulled back in a bun and a wrap around her shoulders.

"Oh! You are so pretty! Are you a princess?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes, sighed loudly and said, as if I was the dumbest adult in the world, "No! I'm a 17 year old girl going to Prom!"

I had to smile at that one!
